The adapter, CaptchaKraken/CaptchaKraken-Lora-v1.2, is public, and Sunlight and Twilight are that adapter merged into the base and quantised, so there is one file to download and no LoRA plumbing. The hosted endpoint answers the current client with Abyss, a routed mixture of four experts that is not among the downloads — running the weights yourself needs a licence. An older client, or a request that names no model, is answered by Twilight. Self-hosting the public models is free.
Licensed by generation. v1.1 is MIT. The current generation is source-available under the CaptchaKraken License: self-host it and build on it, but don't resell the solve. Abyss is available through the hosted API or under a model licence, and is not otherwise distributed. As newer generations ship we expect to keep opening older ones, as v1.1 was — our practice so far, not a commitment for any particular model.
